Model Selection​

Choose the appropriate model based on task type and complexity — this affects the depth and speed of responses. Matching the right model to the right task helps you achieve high-quality results faster while using tokens more efficiently.

A good rule of thumb: Start with Core. Switch to Basic when you have quick questions between longer tasks.

Core​

The standard model performs well across a wide range of everyday tasks:

  • Debugging and error fixing
  • Writing or modifying scripts
  • Developing editor tools

Basic​

The basic model is suited for quick answers and lightweight iterations:

  • Quick queries and concept explanations
  • Simple single-line code or small function-level code fixes
  • Tasks where you plan to review and refine the output afterward

How to Switch Models​

Basic is the default model. To use a different model for a specific prompt, switch the model below the dialog box, or enter / in the input box and select Switch model.

How to Add Custom Models​

Adding Models via GUI​

Find Custom Models on the settings page to add custom models. After adding, they will appear in the model switching menu.

To view total token consumption within the billing cycle and detailed consumption by model, follow these steps:

  1. Enter / in the Tuanjie AI client and select Account usage
